The CPU87 is a powerful general purpose 6U VMEbus CPU. It is based on the Freescale MPC8270 (PowerQUICCII) with 450MHz and offers both, high computing and excellent communication performance at very low power consumption rates. Four serial ports, two 100Mbit Ethernet ports and a PMC Slot are available. Many PowerQUICCII ports are accessible on a piggyback slot, too. A DiscOnChip slot and a floppy disc port (option) allow the use of mass storage devices. The CPU87 disposes of a flexible boot mode: It boots either from a socketed EPROM or the 64bit flash area. Versions for the extended temperature range
(-40° / ..+85°C) are available, too.
